Stop Destroying Your Soft Plastics (It’s Probably Not The Fish)

If your soft plastics are getting shredded after one or two fish, sliding down the hook, or refusing to stay pinned on a jighead… you’re probably blaming the wrong thing.

It’s easy to point the finger at the fish.

But what if the real problem is happening before you even make the first cast?

So I created this video to break down a few subtle rigging mistakes that destroy your lures… and one simple trick at the end that can dramatically extend the life of your soft plastics.

If you’re tired of burning through lures ($$$) and constantly re-rigging mid-trip, you’ll want to see this.

Featured Gear:

Key Takeaways:

• Most lure damage starts before the fish ever bites
• Small rigging details make a big difference over time
• There’s a simple adjustment that keeps plastics in place longer
• Fixing one tiny habit can save you serious money over a season

Final Thoughts

Soft plastics shouldn’t be a one-fish investment.

With just a few small adjustments, you can keep your lures cleaner, straighter, and locked in place longer without constantly replacing them.

Be honest…

How many fish are you getting per soft plastic right now?

Try the 90° jighead trick and let us know if it made a difference.

Thanks for the insight !!!
Never thought about the jig head shredding the plastic !!
Great tip !
I’ve also destroyed my own by hooking to far back , creating a slack feel in the body . One good snack and the front tips or the tail gashes to not allow for a re-hook !!
Thanks again

While I do rig my soft plastics with the 90 degree methodi believe that the bigger the fish usually the more damage the plastic lure gets because usually bigger fish hit the hardest ans also have larger and sharper teeth but not always like for instance little trout they can really tear up plastic baits with there constant nipping at the bait instead of engulfing it like bigger trout do and as far as redfish or snook that only have very fine teeth like a freshwater largemouth bass i just think it might be on how they hit it when damage to the lure is noticed if they hot it from the rear usually the tail section suffers the most damage to the tail section if they hit it from the side the bait usually becomes ripped along the length of the body but really you have to expect to loose a few and a few baits getting destroyed now and then better to have a few ripped up baits and to have caught fish then to have perfectly in shape baits and to not have gotten any hits or caught any fish its like anything worth seeking you have to work at it and sacrifice a little now and then to achieve your goals but I thank you for this again very valuable intel as well as all you do😉👍
