The Lure I Rely On In Brutal Summer Conditions

Summertime fishing CAN be tricky without the proper tools. However between the Salt Strong Smart Fishing Spots app in combination with my FAVORITE Summer lure, the bite for us has been epic!

Today we use nothing but the famous 4” Mulligan paddletail in the classic Slam Shady color!

The lure is amazing. However, the rest of your setup is extremely important as well. Here’s the gear I am using in today’s fishing adventure.

Don’t forget to apply Dr. Juice to your paddletail, hook, knot as well as at least a couple feet up the leader! I hope you guys enjoy today’s adventure.

Tight lines and God bless!

-Greyson

A quick question for Greyson or anyone else…
How often are you reapplying the Dr. Juice to your artificials?

Scott, Dr. J is oil based, so a little goes a long way. Just make sure you put it on the lure / bait while they are dry, if you apply it to a wet lure, it won’t stick. I only apply it to my lure or hard bait at the beginning of each trip. One or 2 drops at the most, an easier way is to put a few plastic baits in a zip lock, add a few drops of Dr. J in it, close it up and mush it around! Now your baits are pre scented if you need a new one! If you want to refresh one you’ve been fishing with, dry it with a towel, drop it in the zip lock, mush it around and you now have re applied Dr. J without getting it all over! With hard lures, I just dry it with the towel and re apply a drop or 2 spreading it with my fingers. Just be careful, Dr. J stains clothes and the odor is hard to get rid of.

DJ has both oil & water soluble ingredients. I’ve not found that a lure needs to be completely dry in order for DJ to adhere to it.
