I Compared Realistic and Plain Lures Underwater

Ever wondered how realistic lure colors look underwater compared to plain colors?
I filmed our Flea Flicker lure underwater in the new pilchard and mullet HD colors and compared it to our original Slam Shady color to see how it looks from the perspective of a fish.
There are some key takeaways as far as how each color stands out and how to apply that while you are on the water.
Enjoy!

Thanks Tony, very informative.
I didnt realize the eyes were that important.
If the lure im using has lost its eye ( when it gets banged up and the eye has either fallen off/peeled off ..etc), should I stop using it? Thank again, as always love your videos!
You’re welcome Mo! You can keep using the lure. If anything you can use a permanent marker or some paint and just make a small black dot where the eye was.
Thank you for the comparison Tony. My best friend and I fish with all three colors and like the action and presentation. With all the cold snaps we have experienced here in FL lately we haven’t used them much but look forward to warmer water with these lures.
You’re welcome Trent!
Color is a key factor as much as presentation.i personally like a flashy effect, with some natural color, with distinct eyes.i think the color pilchard is best
The Pilchard color is definitely a good one
Thanks for the video. My grandson has told me numerous times that I must really love the slam shady and he is right , because I catch most of my fish on the slam shady color!!! Tight Lines 🎣🎣🎣
Its a good one!
I like the slam shady color, seems to really stand out
For sure!
Wonderful video, thanks.🤗🎣🙏💯
You’re welcome Bob!
I’m new to the Salt Strong lures, but color does make a huge difference when I’m using the old fashioned Needle Fish lures with treble hooks on them. Sometimes trout and snook hit them all, but often they are fixated on the green ones or blue ones here along the Space Coast.

Thanks for sharing the info!
I live in Michigan and vacation in Florida. I have been surf fishing for the last 3yrs when I go to Florida. I became a member of salt strong to help my skills for surf fishing and salt water fishing in general. Also noticed that a lot of the tackle here looks like it would be useful for fishing areas around my home in Michigan. Especially for bass fishing. Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve caught bass on just about every lure we have (even the prawn).
I like the Flea Flicker. The color I use will probably depend on water conditions. In Texas we are in murky bay water most of the time. But the FF has a great size and weight for casting and the fact that it sinks tail down is great. I have a feeling trout are going to grab it on the drop.
We have a black/gold color coming soon as well. Great for murky water!
I definetly like the pilchard best. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Great looking color for sure!
