Some lures look great in the water…
But don’t always get the results.
This one’s been different.
The Wake Mullet has been producing consistent strikes across redfish, snook, and trout…
And it’s become one of my go-to lures in shallow water.
In the video below, I’ll show you what makes it so effective… and how to fish it the right way.

Just got my free one in the mail today and will be on the water tomorrow to try it out. Thanks for the video.
Good job
Realizing there are no absolutes or 100%’s in fishing…I’ve heard from other anglers that top water plugs are only good in the early morning or at dusk. Any truth to this? Or can this lure be used at any time.
There will be some days where topwater can work great throughout the entire day, but the twilights and at night are when they excel most of all during the warm months.
While the sun is up, subsurface lures will almost always beat topwaters during the summer months.
Luke, thank you. Is it possible to explain that theory/ concept a little deeper? I’m assuming that has to do with water temperature and different depths?
Just trying to really understand why you use certain lures at certain times of the day.

Excellent Thank you
I guess i need to start using mine mor because I have all the colors like all the rest of your lures that saltstrong sells that u bought in the past but I would think that a stop and go retrieve maybe with a few twitches added on occasion would be better especially when the reds or trout are in an active mood because it would seem to be mimicking a wounded muller or dying shad but obviously a strait retrieve works the best because that is what you demonstrated in this video now I just have to use mine thanks for the info and all you do😉👍
This lure should work extremely well up in your north FL waters. And lures like this are very good at night since they give off a lot of vibrations. Although a straight retrieve is normally all that’s needed with this lure, it certainly won’t hurt if you included some stops and twitches on occasion to see if the fish respond to them or not.
Thanks for the awesome video and I will be trying the wake mullet the next time I go out fishing 🎣 Tight Lines!!! 🎣🎣🎣
Thanks for making time to post the nice comment Harvey! Please keep us posted on how you do once you’ve had time to try this lure out.
Great info on the wake mullet Luke.
was heading back to flamingo yesterday but had to stay close to home do to a thunderstorm coming out of the glades.
gave the wake mullet a try on one of our flats but nobody home.
did get a few small barracuda on the skinny lipper. Can’t wait to give it another try.
Blessings and tight lines
This lure should be excellent at Flamingo since the water there is usually murky… this lure gives off a good amount of vibration that helps fish in murky/churned water find it.
nice illustration, 6-12 inches depth is really perfect for many flats, I should be using this wake mullet more frequently
Thanks for making time to post the nice comment Angelo!
